Let's Make A Thing Of It....

Greetings nefTUNES,

If you've been keeping up you know this weekend is a busy one for us! iiWant to Thank You so much for your support. It's such a blessing to know that real people do real things!

Speaking of doing real things...iiHaven't seen you in a minute, You want to meet up?

Come kick it with me @ One of these awesome shows...

It's been quite a ride hosting The CCCollective Open Mic. From building a rapport with my fellow artists and getting to know the community, to pushing the limits of my own CCCreativity and learning myself in the process.

None of these lessons have come easily, but, thankfully, iiWas prepared for some of them thanks to the example of Cambridge Jenkins IV. iiMet Cambridge through a mutual friend of ours, Mieasha Stroud (now host of Club Meeshee). At the time, Cambridge was the host of a show called Hotwordz Lyrical Theater. HotWordz is an open mic format radio show that puts a spotlight on the independent artists, and iiWas in contact with Miesha about featuring the nefTUNES.

Mieasha set up a meeting for me with the "HotWordz Crewsaderz"; Lisa, Candace, Cambridge, Mieasha, and G.G. iiPlayed a few tunes for them and, from that initial meeting, several beautiful relationships were formed that would bring rich stories and great opportunities for the nefTUNES, including my first interviews conducted by Mr. Jenkins IV himself, and performing @ his quarterly event, "The Corner Live!".

It wasn't until The Corner Live! that iiReally got to know his commitment to his art form as a poet, and his vision as a facilitator of CCCreativity. It was truly beautiful, and iiAm happy to say that through a business relationship, a personal relationship was strengthened. That's a rare find...

When iiAsked him to feature @ The CCCollective, his reply was one of appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate once again. For me, the feeling is mutual.

Join us friday @ The CCCollective Open Mic with Special Guest Poet Cambridge Jenkins IV and he'll be giving us a preview of his upcoming Book "Ain't No Grits" Vol. 2 . It's a must-see sneak peek of a must-read poetry book! And we're excited to have him @ The CCCollective.

As iiHave been blessed with the opportunity to share a stage with some of my favorite artists and closest friends, iiWant you to join me in giving him a warm and deserving welcome to The CCCollective. This is an open mic and we welcome all CCCreative artists to our stage. No fear here. Keep it Positive. Keep It CCCollective. Keep It Going.
