Atlanta, GA (Jan. 3, 2014) -- Art, music, & food showcase helps Atlanta’s creative community refresh their creative juices in the new year to be held on Saturday Jan. 4, 2014 from 9PM until 2AM at R&B/Jazz singer & songwriter, b.s1m0ne’s exclusive location, thebsmnt, featuring Tyehimba “Black Gzus” Toure. As a poet, philosopher, and published author, Toure is versed in the art of the wordcraft and will bring the ‘Prophe-CCC’ to Chuuuch.
Presented by Creative Culture Collective at thebsmnt’s secret location (guests will be asked for a password), the art, poetry, and music event will take place near Atlanta’s famous East Atlanta Village. This is one of many ways Creative Culture Collective’s new ‘C-Sun’ is taking charge in the independent artist and open-mic sector, supporting independent artists through a fresh, new, and creative platform that enhances marketing, networking, and performance skills. Founder of Creative Culture Collective, Nefertiti and the nefTUNES says, “I always viewed the Creative Culture Collective, as well as my own art, as a ministry. Chuuuch is going to make that connection between doing your passion and praising your creator, recognizing your source.”
Chuuuch is a chance for Creative Culture Collective enthusiasts and friends to inspire their creative passion in remarkably fresh, new, and exciting forms. The event also showcases the ‘best of the best’ from Creative Culture Collective’s Open Mic Fridays at Jamaica Flava, the now defunkt Decatur, GA restaurant & lounge. As a published author, who was featured in Chapter 1 of The Sync Book, Toure, a college dropout, also lectures college students in statistics, as well as other disciplines, sharing his expertise at finding patterns and synchronicities in our everyday lives, cultures, and industries. As ‘Blak Gzus’ says, “Medium is message. Message is medium.”
Presiding over the ‘services’, Artist, Spiritual Advisor, and de facto CCC Artist Liason, Cindy “MOreEssence” Stephen will host ‘scccripture reading’ by Nykeria Chaney (Author, Poet, Playwright, Founder, Cre8tive Nsights Productions; Author, Beyond Betrayal) , a ‘word from our ccchoir’ with Monica Raye Simpson ft. the nefTUNES (Vocalist; Songwriter; Executive Director, SisterSong, Reproductive Justice Collective), and the ‘Prophecccy’ from Poet, Philosopher, Web Developer, and Published Author, Tyehimba “Blak Gzus” Toure. DJ Najj Marlee is spinning the 1’s & 2’s. The night promises to be a fulfilling Saturday night-out with food, drinks, entertainment, information, and laughter to remember for years to come.
